LOCOMOTIVES

121-Class   No. 124 has been out of service for most of the summer due to traction motor problems. It was in the Running Shed in Inchicore between May and July, but was stored outside Diesel 1 in August. No. 134 remained in freight service, largely working out of Limerick, and later Portlaoise on PW trains.

141/181-Class   Locomotives 153, 154 and 181 were cut up in Inchicore in June. Nos. 151, 162 and 168 were stopped unserviceable at Inchicore. Parts have been removed from 162 and 168.

On Wednesday 25 July, 15 locomotives of the class plus 134 were observed in traffic. They were 163 & 170 Heuston pilots, 160 & 189 at Inchicore, 192 in Portlaoise, 165+175, 144+147, 134+171 & 171 in Limerick, 167+184 on a ballast train in Nenagh and 173 & 185 in Connolly.

071-class   Overhauls continue in Inchicore with 080 receiving attention until July. It was painted in August. Locomotive 071 was undergoing overhaul in July/August in the Parlour (adjacent to the Ramps). Locomotive 085 has been repainted in the new livery without undergoing the major overhaul.

201-Class   Overhauls continue in Inchicore. Overhaul of 209 in the Parlour was completed in August and its place was taken by 214
