CAF Mainline Carriages (Mk IV)   The eighth set (4008) was introduced in time for the timetable change in January. CAF utilised the Valeting Plant in Connolly to perform modifications to the carriages.

Mk III   Planned body and interior general repairs (overhauls) have ceased on the fleet, with scheduled overhaul work confined to bogie and brake systems and to casualty repairs. The Mk IIIa International set has generally operated on Westport services instead of Galway services.

With the commencement of the 2007 timetable, one of the former ‘CityGold’ sets was held in Heuston and a second in Cork to act as back-up for CAF Mk IV sets and to allow them receive repairs and modifications.

Mk IId   Rundown of the fleet continues with complete withdrawal expected this year. Nos. 5151, 5222, 5230 and 5405 were cut up in January. Nos. 5105, 5153, 5157, 5210, 5217, 5229, 5406, and 5605 were waiting scrapping.

Only four sets were in daily use in April. On weekdays, set 1 works the 07:10 Athlone-Galway, 09:15 Galway-Heuston, 17:50 Heuston-Galway and 21:40 Galway-Athlone. Set 2 works the 05:05 Athlone-Heuston and 17:10 Heuston-Athlone. Set 3 works the 06:05 Waterford-Heuston and 16:25 Heuston-Waterford. Set 4 works the 08:55 Sligo-Connolly and 17:05 Connolly-Sligo.

Cravens   No. 1530 was cut up in January. At the end of April, the remaining withdrawn Cravens were in Inchicore waiting scrapping.

Generator-Steam-heating-Vans   GSVs 3172, 3177, 3178 and 3184 have been sold to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough. They were transported by road from Inchicore, minus bogies, on 10 and 11 April.
