Ballymote
The disused signal cabin has been removed to allow the platform to be extended.
Carrick-on-Shannon
The water tank has been demolished to allow the platform to be extended.
Connolly
Following the removal of the Ramp at Connolly Station, the road along
platform 2 has become largely redundant. The area is now to be developed with a
new waiting room for
Enterprise
passengers, improved toilet facilities, enlargement of the concourse and a new
retail unit. This represents an investment of €2m.
Ennis
É has applied for planning permission for a 200-space car park at Ennis
station. The car park is to be located on railway owned land and is necessary as
a result of the increased numbers of passengers using the enhanced
Ennis-Limerick service.
Rosslare
Europort
In June, Enniscorthy District Court approved the transfer of the terminal's
liquor licence from IÉ to a Dublin based company, Select Service Partner
Ireland Limited, who are planning to take over the running of the 'railway
refreshment room'. The company has been running a bar at
Dublin
Airport
for
21-years.
Security
Growing problems with vandalism and trespass has resulted in the decision to
install CCTV security cameras at Athenry, Ballinasloe, Castlebar, Claremorris
and Clara stations. All these stations except Claremorris no longer have manned
signal cabins.
